Living Waters -
Summer Bible Camp:
August 16-20, 2010
The camp work
was started in 1988 and commenced as a gospel ministry to
reach families for Christ.
Some of the
specific objectives are:
1) To bring the message of the Gospel to all who attend.
We believe that Jesus Christ died and rose again.
(John 3:16, 1 Cor. 15:3-4, Romans 5:8, 1 Timothy 2:5-6, 1
Peter 3:18)
2) To
encourage the spiritual growth of those who are saved and to
provide
the opportunity for Christian service.
(Ephesians 6:10-17, 2 Peter 3:18)
3) To provide
a safe and happy holiday for all campers.
Regulations:
- no camper will leave the camp grounds without permission
- the camp does not allow profanity, smoking, alcoholic
beverages, or illegal
drugs on the camp grounds
- campers are to respect and obey their counselors
- counselors are responsible to maintain the order and
discipline of their
delegated group
- any serious discipline problem shall be referred to the
director
- no noise or unscheduled activity after “lights out time”
without permission
from the director
- boys are not allowed in or around girls cabins
girls are not allowed in or around boys cabins
- you must obtain permission to phone out
Discipline:
Campers who deliberately disobey the camp regulations, or
disrupt camp life will be subject to:
- a warning by the director
- loss of privileges
- sent home
Dress -
Certain Unacceptable Attire:
- any type of clothing with offensive graphics or
terminology
- any type of provocative, tight-fitting, revealing, sheer
midriff, or
see-through
clothing, including scanty swim-wear
- suitable foot-wear and clothing in the dining hall and meeting rooms

8:00 AM Morning devotions in cabins
8:15 AM Morning exercises
8:30 AM Breakfast
9:00 AM Wash up, clean up
9:30 - 12:30 PM Activities - boating, hiking, relay, treasure
hunt, etc.
Morning Bible Hour For All Ages
12:30 PM Dinner
2:00 - 3:00 PM Woman's Bible Hour
1:30 - 4:45 PM Activities - sand castle, power boat,
trampoline, volley ball, golfing, etc.
5:00 PM Supper
7:00 PM Gospel Testimony
8:00 PM Camp fire
10:00 PM All children in cabins
11:00 PM All youth and teens in cabins
Welcome To
Living Waters Camp
Counselors:
Be sure to read the resource guide manual
Be responsible for your group
You will have the care of 6-12 youth
Know the schedule and go over it with your group
Follow the camp regulations and submit any complaints to the
director
Address the special needs of the youth
See that valuables are under lock and key
Encourage the proper personal hygiene of each camper
Check each camper daily for cleanliness and clean clothes
Ensure cleanliness with respect to the cabin and camp site
Maintain good discipline
Refer difficult situations or questions to the director
Reinforce the need to attend services and participate in the
activities
Sit with your group during meal time and Bible hour
See that the campers are appropriately dressed for meal and
Bible hour
Younger groups will have assistant counselors
Everyone is entitled to a break
Some of the senior campers will be assigned special duties
Cabin
Devotions:
Be alert to the special spiritual needs of the campers
Have a brief morning and evening devotion
The devotions may be original or follow a curriculum
Come prepared with a selection of memory verses and Bible
lessons
Prepare yourself - read, prayer, fellowship
Color
Group Competition:
The general student body will be divided into two sections
Each section will be divided into three color groups
Each of the three color groups will compete in physical and
spiritual exercises
Keep a record of each camper's color
Some
Special Items You Might Bring:
Air freshener, insect repellent, flash light, small
awards, bandages, decorations

Resource Material For A "Rainy Day":
Paper and pencils, books, cassette tapes, recorder, poster
art, charades, word, games, scripture search, Bible trivia,
scavenger hunt, jigsaw puzzles, puppets

The age of the campers you prefer to work with, first choice,
second choice
A brief account of your salvation experience
State your reason(s) why you desire to work with youth in this
setting
List out several Bible references that are meaningful to you
and can be shared

Camp
Expectations:
Go over the camp regulations and your own expectations
with your group of campers.
Respect and obey these camp regulations yourself and
especially in view of communication these to others.
Assist and be with your group at meal time and Bible hour, and
see that they participate in the sport events and all
activities.
Attend all the Bible sessions.
Communicate the gospel both by life-style and word of mouth.
Get to know your campers and share your faith with them.
In regard to discipline be firm in what you say.
Do not use any physical punishment and report to the director
any difficulty you may encounter with a camper.
Be courteous and assist whenever and wherever you can.
Attend the general session as announced.
Be sure
and submit your personal application form.
